FREE PRESCRIPTION
DRUGS
You may have seen
television ads featuring Montel Williams saying that drug companies give away
some prescription medications to people that qualify. Mr. Williams
is speaking for Partnership for Prescription Assistance, the site
listed below. There is NO CHARGE for finding out if you
qualify. Beware any web site offering to register you or provide you
with information for a service fee.
Do not assume
you would not qualify. Many people who would qualify do not
apply because they assume the program only serves "poor" people, but
this is not so. If you need help , don't assume...APPLY!

POLITICAL
LINKS.....
The country, state or
territory you live in has a tremendous impact on what type of
medical care, what kinds of treatment and even what information you
have access to.
Politics DO have
an impact on your pain!
The best way to help yourself
while helping other people with pain is to be politically aware and
active. Find out who represents you in government. Keep informed
about issues that affect health care. Then make vigorous use of
email to voice your opinion!
As an individual citizen, you
absolutely have the power and ability to influence your government.
What citizen lobbyists may lack in experience and contacts, they can
make up for in knowledge, research and personal passion.
The most effective lobbying
approach is the simple presentation of accurate information and your
own story. Explain how current or proposed legislation impacts on
you, helping or hurting your ability to find treatment, to
find work and to find housing.

For people living in the
U.S.A. , the following resources will help you find
out who represents you and what is happening within
your government:

out who your elected officials are and contact them

government policy.
VoteSmart
http://www.votesmart.org/ A
non-profit action group run by volunteers devoted to
helping American citizens get information on who
represents them, how they vote on issues and who
they take money from. Find out if your
representative is unduly influenced by funding from
pharmaceutical companies. |
